Caroline + Burke - Adventure Engagement Shoot

One of our favorite things about wedding and engagement photography is hearing how our couples met. Without fail, there's always some twist or happy coincidence that brought everything to fruition and Caroline and Burke’s story is no different. A Nashville native, Caroline was attending the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa (Roll Tide!) and Burke had just moved to the area from the great state of Washington. Burke had connected with one of Caroline’s friends online and one night when they decided to meet up, she decided to bring Caroline and another girlfriend along. After a night full of conversation, they could both tell there was something more there but due to various circumstances their inevitable romance would be limited to a vibrant friendship for the next several weeks. Then, late one night after many hangouts and bonding sessions, Burke in a now fateful Facebook message confessed his love and adoration. The rest, as they say, is history.

When they contacted us about shooting their wedding and engagement photos, we jumped at the opportunity. Both are very much into nature and adventuring, so we knew they would be up for something unique that required a little work. After several weeks of less than stellar weather, the rain subsided and the clouds broke giving way to perfect weather for what we had in mind. Early Saturday morning, we met just outside of Kingston Springs and ventured down the beautiful backroads of Tennessee to Narrows of the Harpeth State Park. Caitlin and I had been to the Narrows several times, but neither of us had done a legitimate shoot there before. Needless to say, it was well worth the wait…and the effort! We were all a little sweaty and sore when we wrapped, but these images will last a lifetime and reflect the essence and grandeur of their love.
